We’re looking for an IT Manager to join our growing People Team at Farewill.

This role is a unique opportunity to build and establish an IT function within a growing legal tech firm using primarily cloud-based SaaS products and MacOS. This would initially be a solo position in which you would be the in-house IT expert and would grow from there under your direction.

You would be given the freedom to shape the IT function under your own direction within a growing company with an inclusive culture that truly values engagement and development (seriously, we have a team dedicated entirely to those things). Rather than being thrown into a purely reactive environment you would be given the space and investment to really create something special.

Although you’d be reporting to the Chief of Staff at Farewill this is essentially a leadership role within a technical specialism and whoever we hire for this will be entrusted with the future of IT at Farewill in terms of systems and people.

In the next 12 months you will:

  • further build and establish the IT function at Farewill
  • engage with functional heads on removing IT admin work from them and providing them with secure and scalable IT processes
  • resolve tech support queries across the business and shape the service desk function
  • maintain and create documentation for the IT function
  • be responsible for on-boarding and off-boarding employees

Requirements

Hopefully, you’ll have some or all of the following:

  • experience of doing tech support in an office environment
  • strong prioritisation and task management skills
  • management experience (preferably within a service desk environment)

Some extra skills that would be great:

  • experience with administration of MDM and IAM (we use SimpleMDM and OneLogin)
  • familiarity with our tech stack (GSuite, Slack, Zoom)
  • experience as a solo or lead IT person in a business

Benefits

What we offer in return:

  • The opportunity to build on an IT function in the early stages and really shape it
  • Competitive salary and generous stock options
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays
  • Flexible working including when you start & end your day, and how often you come into the office*
  • Personal development budget of 3 days and £1000 per year
  • Regular ‘passion talks’ and a range of team socials
  • Santander cycles membership!
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution to people's lives and deaths
  • And much more!

If this sounds like what you’d love to be doing, we can’t wait to hear from you. If you’re not sure that you exactly fit the above criteria, get in touch anyway. Ability and attitude is just as important as experience! But apply soon as application close on 23rd May

*Currently our lovely office in Haggerston is available if people want — and only if they want. Previously, we had work from home Wednesdays, however, our current plan is to move to a mix of office-based and remote working.

At Farewill, our mission is to change the way the world deals with death - to make it simple, personal, fairly-priced & accessible to everyone.

To do that, we want to build a workplace that’s great for everyone, that celebrates diversity in all its forms, and where everyone who works for us feels like they can be themselves, bring their whole selves to work, and be treated fairly, equitably and respectfully.

We believe flexibility is important, so we’re happy to chat to you about flexible/remote working options. And, If you need any flexibility or adjustments in our interview process - to help set you up for success - then please let us know too.
