We’re looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our growing People Development and Engagement team at Farewill.

This role is a unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in shaping and implementing an industry defining people development strategy and programme. L&D is not an added bonus at Farewill - it is at the core of how we operate, and weaved into the very fabric of our work.

Although we believe there are many great sources of inspiration for growth cultures in business, we are looking for someone who wants to be part of setting a new bar - by leaning into some of the most progressive concepts, research, and ideas at the forefront of people development.

With 130 Farewillians (and another 130 likely joining over the next 12 months), this is a remarkable opportunity to influence the growth and development of an enthusiastic and rapidly scaling team, whilst also being an early employee in an exciting new team at Farewill.

In the next 12 months you will:

  • Help us build out our digital learning stack, by identifying the right partners and leading their rollout across the organisation.
  • Lead our management training programme and facilitating a shift from our current in person programme to a blended approach.
  • Launch our L&D resource library, and help Farewillians across the organisation to share their knowledge and skills with each other.
  • Collaborate with our frontline teams to launch new onboarding and training content designed for dealing with bereaved customers.
  • Support our People Development and Engagement Lead with the evolution of our people development strategy ready for scale.

Requirements

Hopefully, you’ll have some or all of the following:

  • Demonstrable understanding and application of progressive developmental concepts and theories as they relate to the world of work.
  • A track record of designing learning content and experiences, and a deep understanding of measuring their impact.
  • A confident communicator and engaging facilitator - an innate ability to engage, excite, enthuse a room of people.
  • The ability to manage multiple work streams and projects at any one time.

Some extra skills that would be great:

  • Experience in working with digital learning platforms / management systems.
  • Acquired your coaching accreditation with the ICF
  • Content creation skills beyond decks (graphic design, video, etc)
  • Specialist knowledge of designing blended learning experiences.

Benefits

What we offer in return:

  • Competitive salary and generous stock options
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays
  • Flexible working including when you start & end your day, and how often you come into the office*
  • Personal development budget of 3 days and £1000 per year
  • Regular ‘passion talks’ and a range of team socials
  • Santander cycles membership!
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution to people's lives and deaths
  • And much more!

If this sounds like what you’d love to be doing, we can’t wait to hear from you. If you’re not sure that you exactly fit the above criteria, get in touch anyway. Ability and attitude is just as important as experience! But apply soon as application close on 16th May

*Currently our lovely office in Haggerston is available if people want — and only if they want. Our current plan is to move to a mix of office-based and remote working.

At Farewill, our mission is to change the way the world deals with death - to make it simple, personal, fairly-priced & accessible to everyone.

To do that, we want to build a workplace that’s great for everyone, that celebrates diversity in all its forms, and where everyone who works for us feels like they can be themselves, bring their whole selves to work, and be treated fairly, equitably and respectfully.

We believe flexibility is important, so we’re happy to chat to you about flexible/remote working options. And, If you need any flexibility or adjustments in our interview process - to help set you up for success - then please let us know too.
