Since its foundation in 2009 in the Netherlands, WeTransfer has expanded its reach around the globe to the USA and UK. The finance team has been a critical driver of this by maintaining day-to-day financial operations while also keeping an eye out for future opportunities. Now we’re looking for someone to own the unique role of balancing risk management with continued innovation and growth. As our Tax Director, you’ll manage all aspects of corporate tax planning and provide insight our business leaders need to move into new territories in a sustainable and scalable way. Reporting into our Chief Financial Officer, you’ll build a function that will have a real impact on business decisions as we expand. 

What you’ll work on:

    • Ensure compliance with international tax laws, regulations and WeTransfer policies. Identify new tax requirements triggered by new business development new locations/ offices. 
    • Seek opportunities to optimize our tax structure and cost. 
    • Lead the tax strategy for our business activities in all locations. 
    • Develop corporate policies and authorize/oversee their implementation. 
    • Recommend ways to optimize our corporate tax liability. 
    • Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns, estimates, extensions and audits for all locations. 
    • Prepare and present reports to executive management on tax matters.
    • Maintain policies and procedures governing the tax function.

What we’re looking for:

    • A degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Law is required.
    • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters.
    • Ideally a background of working in both international consulting and scale-up or technology companies. 
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to drive alignment between a multitude of stakeholders. 
    • Experience owning complex projects end to end. 
    • Strong attention to detail. 
    • A team player who contributes to a great team spirit.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

A note on remote
Covid has changed the world. Just as much as it changed us. While we can't wait until offices re-open, being at the office will not be mandatory in the future. This way, you get the best from both worlds. That move is still pretty new for us though, we are getting there, we are writing more, doing more async communication, and are now ready to take it to the next level.
