About the team
The email team at WeTransfer currently looks after the full email process - from setting strategy with the wider teams, to creating emails, testing, reporting and much more for all the marketing email communication across our wide range of products - WeTransfer Pro, WeTransfer Accounts and WePresent - our editorial platform.
 
About the role
We are looking for a freelance designer & developer to join the Email Team at WeTransfer for a 3-month contract. 
You are passionate about email marketing and have worked in this field in the past. You’ll be working inside the larger Marketing team to build email campaigns on our new marketing platform, Iterable. 
 
You will deliver an array of email communications, from WeTransfer promotional campaigns, WePresent newsletters, behavioral triggers emails. You will be reporting to the Senior Email Designer and Developer and work alongside her and the rest of the Email team to create awesome campaigns. 

What you’ll be doing:

    • Create high-quality, on-brand and impactful designs and visual assets for the email channel.
    • Build the emails from both a development and design perspective on our new ESP, Iterable.
    • Help to test emails on different devices with an eye on accessibility and eventually troubleshooting mistakes and issues in different email clients.
    • Come up with the right set of concepts for different newsletters aimed at different audiences and with very different goals.
    • Prototype email design on Figma.
    • Generate different variants for testing purposes.
    • Work alongside the Email Marketing Executive, Email Marketing Specialist, Senior Email Marketing Manager and Head of Email to really feel like you’re part of the team when creating some awesome email campaigns. On a daily basis you will mostly liaise just with some of them.

Who we’re looking for:

    • A visual designer who can translate requirements and create functional, usable, and visual appealing interfaces.
    • You are used to working with marketing and email teams and you have a good understanding of communication between the brand and the users.
    • You have at least 2-3 years of experience in designing and developing emails, you are used to working with ESPs and Email Optimisation tools, ie. Email on Acid or Litmus.
    • Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS is needed.
    • Excellent communicator: able to discuss design decisions openly and confidently.
    • You’re passionate about tech, design, and brand.
    • You’re flexible: able to take on multiple projects concurrently.
    • You’re a team player: enjoy collaborative work.
    • You have a keen eye for detail while also keeping in mind the bigger picture.
    • Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator.
    • Proficient English writing and verbal skills.
    • EU timezone or similar.
    • Ideally could start ASAP.

A note on remote
Covid has changed the world. Just as much as it changed us. While we can't wait until offices re-open, being at the office will not be mandatory in the future. This way, you get the best from both worlds. That move is still pretty new for us though, we are getting there, we are writing more, doing more async communication, and are now ready to take it to the next level.
