As a Software Engineer in our Machine Learning team, you’ll help us achieve our goals and deliver success on behalf of our customers by optimising offline steps required to build high performing real-time fraud detection models, and implementing new features within the ARIC platform that improve the analytic performance of fraud detection models, whilst acting as a senior member of the team with the responsibilities that come with this.

  • Engineering optimised and maintainable high-throughput data processing software
  • Championing software engineering process and process improvements
  • Sharing expertise with colleagues and others; offering mentoring and guidance to more junior colleagues
  • Coordinating work across multiple teams; writing tech specs and identifying risks before development
  • When needed, taking on additional “tech lead” responsibilities for driving initiatives to completion

About you

We are looking for the following:

  • Knowledge of parallel and distributed computing
  • Knowledge of database architectures and data layouts for efficient processing
  • Understanding data processing requirements for machine learning algorithms
  • Knowledge of or previous experience with training and deploying machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with working in a Linux environment

It would also be great if you have:

  • Experience with performance tuning and profiling
  • Proven ability to design information rich tools in a user-friendly way
  • Experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, or MXNet
  • Good understanding of cuBLAS and cuDNN

Personal Qualities

The work is often challenging and fast paced. We are looking for someone who has the following qualities:

  • A focus on personal achievement and responsibilities
  • Enjoys working in a team of like-minded and intelligent people to solve complex problems
  • A passion to learn new skills and technologies
  • Attention to grammatical detail, layout and presentation
  • Enthusiasm
  • A passion to work for one of the fastest growing fraud prevention technologies in the world

And most importantly, a small-company attitude: willingness to adapt to a variable role and a great can-do attitude.
