Huel has an excellent reputation for the highest standards of customer service, and being able to service our customers all over the world is crucial to our continued success. We’re looking for a Materials Manager to join our Operations team to manage the flow of raw materials coming into our sites across the globe.

You’ll plan material movements, review best practices and stock requirements, build cracking relationships with your internal and external stakeholders and determine best practice. You’ll be key in ensuring we’ve got the right materials in the right place at the right time to support the manufacturing operation as we propel the business forward on its rocket-ship growth journey.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Right product, right place, right time: keeping a continual flow of raw materials into our warehouses and factories, including managing the ordering process from placement to arrival
  • Liaising with your colleagues in Production to ensure future material requirements are under control
  • Liaising with your colleagues in Procurement to build strong relationships with our raw material suppliers
  • Reporting on availability, predicting and resolving hot-spots to mitigate any impact on product availability
  • Ensuring that warehouse stock reports are received and processed on time and in full, showing strong control of our P&L
  • Controlling and reporting on current and future cost of stockholding
  • Controlling and reporting on obsolete or out-of-date stock
  • Liaise with your colleagues in Procurement to set up future forecasting for key suppliers
  • On-boarding new suppliers and materials for both contingency and NPD projects when needed
  • Supporting material availability for trials and new manufacturing locations
  • Reviewing current material management processes to find the perfect balance between demand, storage constraints, MOQ, cost and availability
  • Recommending changes to the material network, whether that’s new or centralised storage locations or better ways of managing inventory

What we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years experience of FMCG long-lead time materials management, preferably in a food or drink-based FMCG business
  • Proven track record of success in rapid-growth, high-performance companies
  • Experienced line manager
  • Educated to degree level
  • Extremely organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Super communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enthusiasm and strong work ethic are essential
  • Flexibility will be key, everyone wears a lot of hats and requirements change all the time
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, take responsibility, and get the job done

Key Benefits

  • The opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where you can have a real impact from day one
  • Competitive salary
  • Share options
  • Flexible working
  • Pension scheme
  • Optional private healthcare
  • Free Huel
