Mission

We are pushing the boundaries of data-driven decision-making in insurance. We’ve designed and built Renew, a SaaS platform that allows actuaries and underwriters to create powerful, flexible models using modern open-source technology without the hassle of doing boring things like database admin and UI formatting

On top of that, we've built a team of world-class actuaries, engineers and delivery experts who support our clients in solving unique, complex problems with our platform to help them launch more useful, advanced models, faster than previously thought possible.

These models have actually helped answer real questions such as:

We are currently doing this for some of the largest, and most cutting-edge names in specialty insurance today, and our client base is growing rapidly. Renew is a carefully engineered, highly flexible and scalable platform, and this has led to rapid growth of our customer base, further requests for consultancy and more market interest around hx in general.

We are now scaling our Project Management team so that we can work even more closely with our clients, partners and the broader tech/insurance community - and that’s where you come in!

Your mission will be to work across the whole of hx to ensure that we provide our customers with an unrivalled experience from the point of POC, through the sales journey, project delivery, handover and throughout their hx customer lifecycle.

Project Management @ hx

The hx Project Management team specialises in working closely with our customers to ensure that we help them transition to our platform successfully, enabling them to handle the interesting and complex problems they regularly face. Here are some example challenges we will take on this year:

  • How do we transition our clients from sale to Go Live and ensure that they are seeing the benefits of our world class platform as soon as possible?
  • How do we make sure our clients are first-to-market with rapidly built, best in class pricing models in Renew?
  • How do we ensure that we understand the features that matter to our clients and work with our excellent Product Engineering teams to deliver them?
  • What can we do to help our clients make the best use of Renew and expand usage across their business?
  • How can we put in place processes with our Customer Engineering team to ensure that client onboarding is seamless?

The Project Management team works with all of the teams at hx but particularly closely with our Product Engineering and Model Development teams as well as with our clients.

You'll work closely with our customers running projects to support their transition to our world-leading platform, and work with super-bright, driven people (both inside hx and among our data, service and insurtech partners).

This only scratches the surface of opportunity – hx is growing very fast and our product is being used in an increasing (and sometimes unexpected!) number of ways across the market. If you join us, it’s likely your journey will be similarly fast-paced and surprising!

Key Responsibilities

Note: hx is still a relatively early-stage business, and our culture prizes initiative highly - as such this section is a good indicator of your role, but the list isn’t exhaustive. You will seize the opportunity we have to help us build out our PM community in the insurance industry, and teach it what good looks like!

Working with our Programme Management Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the entire project lifecycle for our clients from initiation and onboarding through delivery to handover to the customer support team.
  • Handling a wide variety of project types including customer engagement & platform onboarding, model build projects, feature design & development projects, and large-scale client transformations from legacy systems to ours.
  • Working with customers to ensure they get the best experience from Renew whether that is standalone via our UI or integrated with their systems via our comprehensive set of ever-expanding APIs.
  • Helping to shape and design our project management processes, ensuring that we have consistent ways of working to always deliver projects to a high standard for our clients.
  • Working with our Customer Engineering team, assisting with the most difficult customer onboarding and integration issues.
  • Working with our Sales teams to understand customer requirements and ensure that we accurately scope out projects.
  • Supporting the customer support team to ensure customers have a quality experience even once a project has concluded and acting as an escalation point in the customer support process.
  • Managing all aspects of a project including: statement of works, contracts, change, budgets, project plans, action tracking, RAID management, and stakeholder management.
  • Regular reporting on project progress to senior client and hx stakeholders.
  • Working with teams across hx to ensure that Agile Project Management is used to drive value wherever it is needed, this has previously applied to our Product Engineering teams, Social Committee and company OKRs process.
  • Helping reduce friction and eliminating impediments that slow us down.

  • A self-starting attitude: you enjoy managing your own time and work, within a tight-knit, high-pressure but high-support environment. You proactively drive your own personal development and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and challenges
