Technology is at the core of what we do. As a Senior Platform Engineer at Unibuddy, you will be driving the evolution of Unibuddy's architecture by designing, implementing and deploying our cloud solution.

As part of a rapidly growing company, you will gain exposure to all areas of the business, understand the key success drivers at a high-growth company, and gain invaluable experience. Success in this role will lead to opportunities for growth across the entire engineering team with significant scope for future development.

Your day-to-day 

  • Driving the evolution of Unibuddy's architecture by designing, implementing, and deploying our cloud solution
  • Reducing engineering friction which, in turn, provides a great experience to prospective students that are seeking answers to the questions that’ll determine their education journey
  • Building the best environment for the product teams to flourish.
  • Lead the AWS architecture - Best practices - Training

This might be for you if…

  • You have experience in engineering roles and a variety of programming languages (Kotlin, Java, Typescript, Python, C#, C++).
  • You have strong experience with AWS and its infrastructure as code languages
  • You have exposure to DevOps, security, architectural approaches.
  • You have experience of CI/CD solutions and how to operationalise these within a distributed multi-team engineering organisation.
  • You have experience with cloud providers, infrastructure as code, and service-based architectures.
  • Understanding of trends in operational architectures; serverless, event-streaming, monitoring practices.
  • You’re knowledgeable about a variety of modern back-end build, test, and deployment tools
  • You encourage diversity of thought, values opinions of more junior and more senior engineers, and openly communicates and collaborates

Would be nice if you could bring…

  • Knowledge of Spring, MongoDB, SQL Database, node.js
  • Knowledge of modern front-end build, test, and deployment tools
  • Experience of using Docker to deliver software services into production environments or any other containerisation tools.
  • Knowledge of architecture concepts such as SOLID

About our Team

As an engineering team, we are dedicated, hardworking, and always looking to learn and improve our craft. This happens in regular knowledge-sharing sessions with our product, data and platform squads. Our team is super collaborative and has complete ownership over products.

In our work, we use industry best practices like TDD, CI/CD, and code reviews as part of building every feature. We also continually evaluate new technologies to see if they can help improve our platform. There's real opportunities to learn and develop through experimenting with new technologies in our very modern tech stack.
