We are looking for an experienced, creative and curious Head of Quality to join Modulr’s technical team. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join a growing fintech with an aspirational roadmap.

What’s our stack? 

In our wider delivery function, Modulr is a Java house with an Angular front end and our engineers work with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Git, Docker and AWS.

Understanding these isn’t essential though beneficial – we’re looking for great people leaders who are willing to learn and can lead a team to deliver amazing things! 

Who are we looking for? 

We’re looking for an engineering leader, amazing motivator and coach, who can lead our quality function.

You’ll have experience of setting and embedding testing strategy across an agile organisation that balances stability with delivery - supporting the teams to deliver amazing software while being responsible for identifying and monitoring key indicators of quality and performance. 

You know how to engage your team to advocate a continuous improvement culture, one that focuses on learning and development.

You can facilitate technical discussions within the team and can support them in taking alternate directions if they need guidance. 

You are comfortable communicating at varying levels, from within team to the extended leadership, influencing for buy-in across the organisation. 

What will you do? 

  • Support, develop and coach a team of Quality leads through effective 1:1 meetings and 360 feedback.
  • Influence and embed Quality practices and culture across the engineering community.
  • Sponsor a learning environment for your function and act as a mentor for up-and-coming leaders and contribute positively to the overall development culture at Modulr.
  • Lead on our recruitment needs, ensuring we’ve got the right mix of skills and experience and have a team of amazing Quality engineers.
  • Lead the setting and monitoring of key quality indicators and be the accountable driving force for embedding them in our squads.
  • Create an inclusive environment of ideas and contribution across the quality function.

What is the interview process? 

  • Screening call

This will be with our Talent Manager, usually lasts about 30 minutes and is a chance for us to learn more about you. 

  • Hiring Manager call 

This stage will be a casual discussion with the hiring manager and someone from our Engineering Leadership group. You’ll get a chance to find out more about what the day job is like and they’ll ask some more casual questions about you. 

  • Panel and presentation 

This call will be some members of the Modulr team so we can delve a little deeper into your experience and a chance for you to ask us questions to get to know us better, too! You’ll bring with you a short presentation which we’ll discuss. 

  • People Manager Assessment

This will be a session focussed on exploring your management style, what's important to you when leading a team and how you coach and develop others.   

  • CTPO/CIO Call

This last stage is a call with our Chief Technology Product Officer or Chief Innovation Officer so you can ask any final questions you have about Modulr or the team.
