You will be part of the Financial Control team that oversees Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Banking, Treasury, Payroll, and month end management accounts production, amongst a range of other tasks.

As a start up, our Finance system was basic and relied heavily on Excel.  As we scale up we’re looking to put in place a market leading system with significant automation which will help the Finance team become and remain world class for the next 5+ years.

The Financial Accountant is a new and exciting role which will play a pivotal part in our scale up journey.

What you will be doing...

Supporting the UK Financial Controller with: -

  • Supporting month-end close through the production of individual entity and consolidated monthly management accounts
  • Variance analysis between actual and budgeted
  • External month-end reporting (ONS, Investors, Regulators)
  • Designing enhancements to detailed Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Processing of journals
  • Year-end audit queries
  • Support key finance projects relating to continued growth, from design to implementation of new finance processes as we scale our business
  • Supporting, designing, and implementing new finance systems
  • Direct line management responsibility of one trainee
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

 

Who you are...

  • Newly qualified, or qualified by experience, accountant (CA or similar) with minimum 4 years’ experience (experience can be pre-qualified)
  • You have an inquisitive mind and proactive approach to problem solving with a passion for finance management and supporting business growth, shaping the direction and scope of a new company
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do whatever’s required to achieve the goals of the finance team and wider business
  • You’re structured and organised, able to handle the competing pressures of immediate tasks and alongside longer-term projects.
  • You’re comfortable working in a scale up business, where time is critical, and things change frequently.
