About your experience:

  • Expert in Java (or similar object-oriented languages willing to learn Java)
  • Expert in OOP and design patterns.
  • Expert in REST API design.
  • Open-Source technologies, such as Spring and Hibernate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Microservices
  • Open-source RDBMS technologies such as PostgreSQL.

About the role:

  • Lead in Design, analysis and documentation of products, systems or subsystems
  • Be an ambassador for technical excellence both within Modulr and externally by representing Modulr in events and conferences
  • Coordinate with other teams at sub-system and system level to identify software needs and solutions
  • Drive engineering standards, tooling, and processes to a new level.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for software
  • Proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or other areas of concerns or opportunities and work to either directly affect change, or advocate for that change
  • Work in an agile environment - Scrum or Kanban
  • Document best practices, guides, systems design, reference architectures and implementations
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Contribute to the evolution of our architecture to make it more flexible and easier to use

About the interview process:

For this role you will go through the following process:

  • Pre-Screen call – This will be with our talent team this usually lasts about 30 minutes and is a chance for us to learn more about you.
  • Technical Test - This is a short take home technical for us to get a better understanding of your technical ability, this helps us to understand the level of questions we will ask at the next stage.
  • Technical + Hiring Manager call back to back.
    • Technical call – This is a chance to meet with some of our great engineers. We will walk through your technical task, ask some technical questions and then we will have a chance for you to ask us some questions as well.
    • Hiring manager call – This is a chance to meet our Directors of Engineering. This part will be more about learning about you as a person and understanding what motivates you.
