Security Engineer

ActiveFence is looking for a Security Engineer with deep experience in cloud-based applications and infrastructure. At ActiveFence, we partner across engineering and operational teams to design and build systems that are secure by design.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with our software development and DevOps teams to secure ActiveFence products, CI/CD infrastructure, and production infrastructure. You’ll also get the opportunity to influence our product roadmap.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop, promote, and monitor the adoption of sound cloud security practices
• Take ownership of vulnerability management and patching policies
• Identify and help mitigate security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities related to the ActiveFence cloud, container, and Kubernetes infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure security is at the heart of what we do
• Help with customers onboarding processes and security reviews 
• Work with ActiveFence’s IT team to improve and enforce corporate security controls

Must - 3+ years of experience in at least two of the following areas:

• Foundational security engineering experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure; 
• Experience working with container and Kubernetes-based infrastructure
• Leading security operations functions – including vulnerability management and detection engineering – in CI/CD and production environments

Preferred:

• Scripting knowledge and experience
• Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams
• Experience working in organizations that develop software and / or operate managed infrastructure and technology services for their customers
• Highly eager to learn new things and work on a variety of tasks
