About the Role

Modulr is looking for an Audit Manager to support the development of the 3 lines of defence model. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and experience to a fast growing, dynamic organisation, working with colleagues across the business to shape our current and future approach. Critically this role will provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to grow responsibilities in line with business growth.

The role will report into the Group Head of Risk & Compliance with access to Board and Risk Committee members to maintain independence. Whilst it is a standalone position you will work across the business and access external expertise and capacity to deliver an independent review of the business’s controls.

The role requires a forward-thinking individual who can also recognise the value of finding innovative but robust ways of embedding a strong Audit culture that enables the safe and sustainable growth of the business.

What you will do at Modulr

  • Build and deliver an audit plan that covers key risk areas for the business as well as the need to support external certification requirements
  • Work with internal stakeholders and access external capacity and expertise to deliver against plans.
  • Ensure the quality of output is delivered to consistently high standards and that actions are captured and tracked as part of the broader risk and control model with appropriate closure evidence.
  • Develop a suite of Management Information that drives insight and business intelligence
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with key stakeholders and agree and monitor management actions arising from audit work (up to Board level).
  • Support departmental projects and initiatives in the development of the 3 lines of defence model
  • Work collaboratively across the business and utilise different sources of information and assurance to develop an informed audit opinion
  • Provide advice on controls and risk management and other consultancy services as required by the business and management.
  • Contribute to coordination of governance reporting required.
  • Proactively assist in the development of standards and procedures within the department.

What we are looking for

  • A strong background in Audit and how it can be applied into different organisations – ideally with experience in the e-money and payments environment and/or a demonstrable knowledge of at least one of the following areas – IT Security/Safeguarding & Reconciliation/Financial Crime/Technology
  • Comfortable working across different levels of the organisation including Board to discuss plans and results of audit findings
  • Work with external and internal subject matter experts to deliver audit reviews and broader risk assessment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable the provision of a clear assessment of the effectiveness of Modulr’s control environment.
