The role

As Corporate Communications Lead, you will report to the Director of Communications and be responsible for actively developing, promoting and implementing global corporate communications strategies and core messages. Working closely with the entire communications team and multiple agency partners, this role will be critical to strengthening our overall perception and external awareness of GetYourGuide as a leading company in the travel industry. In developing our corporate communications, you will work closely with our Executive and Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for intensifying our relationships with the financial and business media in our core markets of Germany, the UK and the US, ensuring consistency, clarity and relevance. This is a senior individual contributor role. 

The team

The Corporate Communications team at GetYourGuide is responsible for telling our stories of discovery, passion, innovation and growth to our various audiences across the world. Through crisp messaging and well-executed integrated communications, we engage and inspire travelers, experience creators, industry and media partners, institutions, government entities, shareholders and our entire passionate team.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and experience in developing and executing communication strategies on a global scale. In order to convincingly and memorably place the corporate story externally, we are looking for a passionate storyteller to help us communicate our brand promise, our corporate history and our successful business model and put it on the public agenda with the help of thought-leading impulses. This role is for you if you are an experienced, hands-on, creative communications professional who knows how to successfully manage projects and long-term strategies and, most importantly, enjoys working with a passionate team to jointly sharpen the Travel Experiences category and deepen long-term relationships with media and external influencers.

Increase visibility and  strengthen overall awareness: 

  • Develop and execute successful communication strategies with strong key messages working closely with the wider communications team and the Exec and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Position the C-Suite at relevant stages and conferences with impactful thought leading contributions
  • Optimize our corporate channels and create added value engaging content, encouraging interaction with the corporate brand. 

Establish strong media relations: 

  • Invest in long-lasting relations with global media partners through active outreach to drive coverage and awareness in our core markets in DACH, UK and the U.S.
  • Develop stories, narratives and talking points to prepare for major company announcements like funding rounds, annual numbers, strategic partnerships etc.

Implement proper communication standards and playbooks:

  • Provide communicative frameworks and playbooks to guide us through successful times and times of change and to prevent crisis scenarios 

Your profile

  • 5+ years work experience in corporate communications
  • Strong experience working directly with journalists, editors, researchers, agencies and other external stakeholders and partners
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and project management skills with concrete examples of developing and executing successful communications strategies
  • Ability to think holistically and translate communicative approaches into channel strategies
  • Exceptional listening, verbal and written communications skills in English, an additional language is a plus 
  • Previous experience in global high growth companies (within the travel industry) is an advantage
