The Role

To complement its extensive programmatic advertising business, Jellysmack is seeking a best-in-class Brand Strategist to support our ad sales team in creating strategic digital advertising and social media programs for brands that seek to tap into Jellysmack’s powerful network of video content creators and leverage the company’s rich first-party data to drive their business results. This individual must be knowledgeable and experienced in the creator space, with the ability to be nimble and client directed when developing brand solutions.

This strategic and creative strategist will act as an extension of the company’s brand partnerships ad sales team to ideate and produce custom programs for brands that will be implemented across all social media platforms. This candidate will manage the full lifecycle of a media campaign beginning with developing content strategies that are deeply rooted in insights tailored to each client. The Brand Strategist will build full funnel pitch materials that leverage all Jellysmack touchpoints to deliver on each client's business objectives. The Brand Strategist will report directly to the Director of Creator Strategy.

Further, the Brand Strategist will position and frame Jellysmack’s suite of solutions and translate that offering into cohesive client-facing offerings and sales programs. The right candidate understands how to concept and produce content marketing and sponsorship opportunities in-line with brand strategies.

This candidate must be an exceptionally strong communicator who forges relationships easily. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and dynamic self-starter with extremely high operational acumen and an entrepreneurial itch to make a big impact in a growing organization.

Our ideal candidate is based near the sales team and leading media agencies on the East Coast, preferably in or around New York.

The Responsibilities

[Pre-Sale] Respond to incoming RFPs and new business branded content opportunities.

  • Create branded content deck proposals with a creative and strategic vision that reflects a tailored approach for each partner.
  • Develop brand partnership strategies driven by cultural, brand and consumer insights.
  • Shape the voice and positioning of our brand partnerships offering: help take a complex technical solution and craft compelling strategies to tell our story. Clearly position our differentiators from a value prop perspective.
  • Prior to pitching ideas to clients, certify all necessary approvals are possible for video concepts and production executions (including all budgets)
  • When needed, represent branded content and pitch ideas on client-facing calls.

[Post-Sale] Manage the execution of branded content programs

  • Collaborate with the sales and internal teams from proposal to delivery, helping to ensure successful campaign development and execution.
  • Draft creative briefs for production assets needed during a Creator/Editorial production.
  • Review video cuts to ensure that all client deliverables and/or feedback are met.
  • Secure approval of creative assets with brand partners, creators, managers, and legal (as necessary) to ensure sign off by all parties.

  • Collaborate with internal teams in the post-production publishing process and in post campaign analysis for future insights

Measure and Analyze Performance

  • Analyze results and adapt plans as necessary to deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Assess and report performance of digital campaigns against goals and ROI. Prepare final results summary for clients.
  • Share results (quantitative, qualitative and anecdotal) to demonstrate methodologies, proven results and impact.

Requirements

A Little About You

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience in a branded content studio, advertising agency, or related field.
  • You have a strong understanding of brand strategy pre/post sale and creative writing
  • You have the ability and proven track record of working across a range of brand categories and clients crafting compelling brand solutions
  • You have experience in conducting and analyzing data insights and audience segmentations to inform full-funnel marketing brand partnership solutions
  • You thrive working cross-functionally to ensure cohesive integrated client campaigns.
  • You foster strong, genuine relationships with both internal and external partners to galvanize support for programs.
  • You are confident interfacing with executive stakeholders (internally and externally).
  • You have deep knowledge of full funnel branded content campaigns, advertising, digital & social media strategy
  • You have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, emerging digital trends and media buying.
  • You have knowledge of the social media industry/creator economy;
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster relationships
  • You have strong analytical skills and ability to develop actionable insights from reporting
  • You have strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • You have excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Proficiency in google suite required, and proficiency in adobe creative suite is a plus

The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, New York City, New York, Washington, or California is $77,900 - $116,800. This role is also eligible for bonus and benefits.
