Country Manager - Mexico

Podimo is the fastest-growing audio entertainment platform in Europe and we are now looking for an experienced Country Manager to lead our Mexican team and spearhead our expansion efforts in Latin America. Come and join us in our quest to enrich people's lives through listening.

This is the role

Since the first day we launched our service in Latin America last year, we have been blown away by the caliber of creators and user engagement across the continent. But we are just scratching the surface. Leveraging our great content catalog (100+ exclusive shows) and the learnings from our first months of operations, we are looking for a Country Manager to take the Mexican market to the next level, creating a hub to support further expansion across Latin America.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Overall P&L & KPI responsibility for our operations in México: from leveraging data insights in order to generate user growth, to securing strategic partners to help distribute and promote our service, to raising the bar on our catalog of great content
• Manage a local team of 5 people (and growing!) across both Content and Marketing functions. 
• Represent Mexico in the creation and harvesting of synergies between our global operations and be part of our Global commercial management team including Country Managers from Spain, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany

We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader with a healthy appetite for great content. We want someone with the ambition to shape the future of audio entertainment and bring great untold stories to millions of listeners in Mexico.

Experience we’re looking for

• You come with at least 10+ years of leadership experience from media, telco, or other relevant entertainment subscription businesses - and a proven track record in owning the full P&L and KPI responsibility for a business unit.
• You have a strong media and entertainment industry network across publishers, traditional media, and digital media companies, combined with experience in partner management and negotiations
• You are a passionate, commercial-thinking executive who loves to take ownership and is hungry for growth. 
• You are both a leader and a team player, with a track record of developing effective teams in fast-paced environments. You create focus by formulating a clear strategy, leveraging data-driven insights to help shape it, and are pragmatic and hands-on in the execution. 
• You are fluent in English on a professional level, both verbally and written
• You are based in Mexico City and are willing to travel when needed

This is the process

1.  Phone screening of relevant candidates
2.  Initial competency-based interview with Hiring Manager
3.  Test and case interviews with relevant stakeholders
4.  Culture interviews with relevant stakeholders 
5.  Offer
