About the Role

As the DevOps Engineer, you will be fundamental in monitoring current software deployments, finding any outdated revisions and maintaining the company’s infrastructure to discover any vulnerabilities in the system. Additionally, you will work alongside the wider engineering team to automate the CI/CD processes, to directly influence the efficiency and success of the department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively involved in the development of our key products
  • Designing, building, testing, and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) process
  • Choosing the best tools and technologies the team requires to meet the business needs
  • Automating different phases of the DevOps pipeline
  • Monitoring systems for malicious activity and other anomalies
  • Managing the IT infrastructure
  • Performing on-call service
  • Ensuring system availability
  • Integrating and connecting application elements (APIs, libraries, SDKs, etc.)

 

About you

We generally don’t have hard and fast requirements - we really value that everyone is different. Core attributes and skills we are hoping to see highlighted in your application are:

  • Experience working in a software development team with a company in a stage of major growth.
  • Ability to design, provision, and manage computer ecosystems
  • Excellent understanding of networking and Internet protocols
  • A good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Experience managing databases, ideally PostgreSQL
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers / DevOps applications
  • Strong experience across cloud Infrastructure, primarily GCP, but also AWS and Azure
  • Familiarity with the Java platform, especially from the management perspective
  • Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience with containers and Docker
  • IaC with Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience building CI/CD and other automation
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Security
  • Focus on infrastructure observability
  • Attention to detail

Location

Red Sift is headquartered in London, UK, with an additional engineering office in Barcelona, Spain. Our preference is to fill this position in either the UK or Spain.
