About the Finance Team

WeTransfer aims to build simple tools around people’s creative process, on any device. We’re interested in the wonderful ways that creative minds work, and how they shape the world around us. This thinking has made our products and brand loved by anyone – from our moms to your favourite artists.

It is our responsibility to build a pragmatic and thoughtful finance team to advise our business on all financial matters. The team is establishing scalable processes to take our business to the next stage. The mathematically minded, the Excel connoisseurs or simply the keepers of our credit cards— however we refer to them, the WeTransfer finance team keeps our money matters in check. Are you the next addition?

We are looking for a VP Finance who will report to our CFO/COO and will be responsible for defining the Financial and Control processes, developing our Tax and Treasury strategy and contributing to the financial and company strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Work directly with our CFO, Sr. Director FP&A and other key stakeholders on building out a best-in-class finance infrastructure for our Controlling, Technical Accounting (financial and operational), Tax (corporate, indirect and employment) and Treasury teams

  • Create and develop our tax and treasury (including investment) strategy, together with an execution and implementation approach

  • Based on input from stakeholders and your own experience you will establish priorities, define and set targets and objectives for your teams for both long and short term strategies

  • Responsible for establishing and maturing necessary policies, processes and tooling with a focus on continuous improvement to deliver greater efficiencies and maximizing effectiveness of execution.

  • You will ensure timely, accurate and compliant financial reporting for all locations and entities globally along with proactively identifying issues and challenges, together with providing recommendations on how to solve for them to our CFO and extended leadership teams

  • Partner with senior management to ensure the company meets or exceeds our financial goals and targets and contribute towards the development of the financial and company strategy and execution

  • Be a sparring partner for our CFO and other key members of the finance team

  • Drive strategic projects that impact the finance function

What you bring:

  • Proven track-record in a finance leadership role in multi-entity, dynamic environments, especially in digital and tech organizations

  • Enjoy managing and leading through change and energized by problem solving

  • Experience in managing accounting, tax, control and treasury functions

  • Strong business acumen, next to financial controlling and planning skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build out and lead high-performing teams

  • Registered Accountant.

  • Has comprehensive experience with auditing processes.

  • Must have experience either managing or working in Tax and Treasury functions.

  • Ideally have experience in an international fast growing, venture-backed company or in the ‘start-up’ business of a larger corporation.

WeTransfer is an equal opportunity employer and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our people. We welcome you, and everything that makes you—well, you. That includes your gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, or disability status.

A note on remote

Our work environment is hybrid-remote, meaning that we support our employees to work remotely and in the office. We encourage employees to decide for themselves and with their team whether or when to go to the office.

Background screening

While it is not necessarily a determining or disqualifying factor for any role, you may be required to complete a standard employment background screening.
