We are looking for a customer obsessed Senior UX Designer who will champion the voice of the consumer throughout each development stage of our hardware projects. You will have a keen interest in hardware UX and how it can align to a software/hardware outcome. You will use research to form an understanding of our customers and help define key features and functions that address the business/customer objectives, you will play a key role in user centered design.You’ll be a great communicator at all levels, be willing to immerse yourself in our product categories, and be that someone who can keep the bigger picture in mind. You’ll be passionate and self motivated and comfortable working in a highly fluid environment. What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Hardware user research and UX research across multiple projects
  • Help define, through research, features and experiences that resonate with target markets
  • Liaise with Software UX and product teams to ensure a consistent output and holistic approach
  • Formulate ideas that make the complex and confusing into simple and empowering 
  • Develop and assist the design research process focussing heavily on user insights 
  • Work with 3rd party research teams to explore user groups to discover what makes them tick
  • Wireframing, conceptualising, rapid prototyping, user testing, interaction design and visual design. 
  • Help Identify Personas to assist the design team in exploring outcomes
  • Create interactive prototypes as needed to convey an experience or customer journey
  • Collaborate and guide designers and engineers to turn ideas into tangible outcomes
  • Validate outcomes with a target user base  


What you’ll have:

  • User centric, research driven mindset for design and discovery
  • Strong demonstrable experience in User Research, Experience design
  • Ability to design presentations to articulate your concepts and ideas.
  • Experience defining and conducting user research - ideally this will have been hardware focussed
  • Holistic attitude looking at all aspects of user touch points, from first engagement through to inhouse set up
  • A strong understanding of brand expression
  • A real desire for results and data driven insights
  • Professional attitude and a real pride in quality of work and attention to detail
  • Great time management skills
  • Inspirational and an evangelist for Experience Design across the organisation
  • Able to manage, unblock and mentor multiple designers


Bonus Points

  • Experience gained in fitness hardware and software
