We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Revenue Accounting. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role will be integral to implementing the end-to-end accounting, business systems and processes needed for our business, including RevPro. The Director will lead and manage global revenue accounting operations in a dynamic environment with significant revenue growth. The successful candidate will need to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including: Sales Operations, IT and Finance in the coordination, accounting, billing and review of sales transactions. As an extension, this person will also document accounting conclusions for the Company’s significant customer contracts in accordance with ASC 606. As the leader of the team, this person will have responsibility for all Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls associated with revenue recognition and accounts receivable. As the company continues to grow, the Director of Revenue Accounting may be asked to support activities including but not limited to: diligence and integration for acquisitions and/or adopting new accounting standards.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the monthly revenue close process, in support of accurate and timely reporting of results
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility including preparing or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensure that contract financial data from sub-systems (Sales Force) reconciles with and is completely and accurately recorded in the accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Design and develop processes for the efficient review and documentation of non-standard deals and accounting conclusions and entries
  • Review all material new contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment
  • Ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures are in conformity with U.S. GAAP, pertinent authoritative literature (ASC 606) and the Company’s policies
  • Design and document internal controls, processes, policies and procedures as it relates to end to end quote to cash process
  • Work with the Controller and external auditors to support the annual audit requirements
  • Partner with the legal and sales teams to provide guidance on contract structure and terms to optimize revenue recognition
  • Assist the Finance team in analyzing revenue trends, generating revenue forecasts, and investigating variances from forecast
  • Develop best practice policies and procedures and drive Quote to Cash process improvement
  • Ensures that general ledger reconciliations are completed within policy compliance, that reconciling items are assessed for both potential exposure and their underlying root cause, and leading corrective actions so as to prevent their reoccurrence
  • Supports the US Controller in maintaining and developing a robust financial control environment and improving the efficiency of current systems and processes, ensuring compliance with local GAAP, applicable laws and regulations
  • Acts as an enthusiastic, positive and motivated role model for the team. Builds a culture of continuous improvement and openness to change
  • Actively manages the talent and career paths of individuals within the organization, including conducting performance and development reviews and succession planning with all direct reports


Skills You’ll Need to Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA required, Big 4 experience highly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and reporting (B2B and B2C SAAS preferred) (5+ years managerial)
  • Previous experience managing revenue recognition in a publicly traded SAAS company preferred
  • Experience managing teams and mentoring staff. Extensive working knowledge of ASC 6065
  • Familiarity with RevPro and implications for implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and a desire to research and document US GAAP with an emphasis on ASC 606
  • Ability to resolve complex accounting issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and ability to drive change
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management and across functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
