We’re looking for an experienced Will Solicitor to join our growing legal team at Farewill.

This role is a unique opportunity to lead the legal side of our wills product. You will enjoy a broad role, providing legal advice to the business and will be our lead technical expert on the law of wills.

About Farewill

Responsibilities:

In the next 12 months you will:

  • take responsibility for all aspects of the legal accuracy of our wills, from representing legal in product, to owning our clause bank and leading training programmes for new and existing will specialists and will solicitors
  • manage a small team of will solicitors who provide legal supervision and support to our operations teams.
  • work with our Head of Legal to identify risks to us and our customers, and help find creative solutions to eliminate or mitigate them
  • work with our Wills Operations Manager and wider legal team to support the growth of our wills operations teams
  • help us retain and win new wills business by representing Farewill’s legal team in pitches with new and existing partners

Requirements

Ideally you'll have:

  • a wealth of private client experience, and particularly at all levels of complexity of will writing and estate planning (including cross-border and business property issues)
  • experience either managing a team or supervising others
  • a genuine motivation to use technology to improve customer experiences in legal services.

 

Some extra skills that would be great:

  • previous volume legal experience
  • experience delivering training
  • wider private client experience including matters relating to incapacity, probate and disputed wills.

*Currently our lovely office in Haggerston is available if people want — and only if they want. Previously, we had work from home Wednesdays, however, our current plan is to move to a hybrid mix of office-based and remote working.
