The Launch Engineer - Electronics role is a new position within the Connected Products division. The team primarily builds electrical and mechanical systems, as such the technician needs to have significant experience with electronics, using apps for testing, performing firmware updates, and managing the electronics manufacturers. As a growing team, there is scope and opportunity to develop a career within our engineering team if the chosen person has a desire and skills to do so

The Launch Engineer is responsible for:

  1. Supporting the team of electrical and firmware engineers as the voice at the manufacturing site.
  2. Manage the SMT line and cables/harnesses builds.
  3. Managing incoming inspection of electronics components into the assembly house.
  4. Managing the production and end of line electronics, firmware and full unit testing jigs and testing processes at the assembly house.
  5. Ability to read electronics datasheets, schematics and layout documents.
  6. Ability to operate an oscilloscope, protocol analyzers  and other measuring instruments.
  7. Working with the wider Connected Products Engineering team to develop hardware and software that creates the best enhancement to the overall Zwift experience.

Required skills and experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have at minimum HND or BSc in engineering, design or model making or industry experience to the equivalent
  • 3+ years experience as an NPI Engineer.
  • Knowledge of bicycle components is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working with globally based manufacturers and colleagues 
  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written along with good sound interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, versatile, organised, articulate and professional
  • Desire to make a big impact and work independently

Location & Travel:

  • Occasional visits to Zwift’s Long Beach CA and London Offices.
  • Visits to manufacturing partners worldwide may be required.
