We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented self-starter with an analytical mind to join our LoveCrafts team. You will play a key role in our small, but ambitious German team, championing our “warm & witty” tone of voice across our German website and marketing channels - effectively any online or offline copy our German speaking customers see!

Working closely with our DACH Regional Manager in Germany and our amazing Marketing Team based in London (UK), you’ll have a lot of responsibility early on. Your focus will be on creating and translating inspiring craft content to facilitate our expansion into new craft categories in our German-speaking countries. This role will also be responsible for executing and analysing our critically important email marketing campaigns across all categories and optimising our German website to match customers’ as well as SEO needs.

Responsibilities

  • Write, translate, edit and review our German copy, including: marketing campaign copy and taglines, product descriptions, inspirational articles, broadcast emails, site content, craft patterns and anything else that comes up!
  • Manage end-to-end email campaigns in collaboration with our Category Managers and the wider Marketing Team in Ometria (our email marketing platform).
  • Developing a testing and optimisation plan for our German email campaigns with ownership for its execution.
  • Proof-reading and testing all email campaigns, ensuring copy and links are correct.
  • Develop and execute on content plans to meet traffic and engagement targets, including performing keyword research and writing for SEO.
  • Track, analyse and optimise the performance of our inspirational and SEO content.
  • Understand what content works for the DACH market and stay on top of industry trends.
  • Create and maintain a German version of our tone of voice.
  • Supervise the delivery of content by translation agencies, freelancers and influencers.

Your skills and experience

  • You’re a native German speaker and fluent in English (spoken & written).
  • You write and translate marketing copy regularly. You love writing, and that comes across in your work.
  • You know how to measure the value of content and analyse performance data using analytics providers.
  • You have flawless spelling, grammar, proofreading, and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • You organise your own work efficiently and always deliver on time.
  • You’re a team player and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re smart, kind, and you make things happen!

Desired but not essential skills and experience

  • Experience in email marketing or digital marketing in general.
  • Experience writing performance marketing copy (e.g. Adwords copy).
  • Experience translating English marketing copy into German.
  • Experience performing keyword research.
  • Experience reporting on the success of your content projects through metrics important to an online business, such as: traffic, engagement, backlinks, and search engine visibility.
  • Experience working with online marketplaces / digital communities / social platforms.
  • Knowledge of HTML and Wordpress.
  • Basic Photoshop skills.
  • Interest in crafting and knowledge of German craft terminology.
