Developer Advocate

We’re looking for a Developer Advocate to join our Engineering team!


🧩 You will make an impact by…

Reporting to the CTO, this role will collaborate with all the Supermetrics product and engineering teams and help bring Supermetrics’ technical expertise in transferring petabytes of data on behalf of our customers to both internal and external audiences.

You will be a key part of building our technical employer brand, participate in open source projects, own our tech blog, and develop internal developer training programs, materials, and tutorials.

Ideally, you’ll be located in our HQ in Helsinki. If you're not in Helsinki, no worries - we do offer relocation packages for new joiners who are interested in relocating.


🔧  What you will do:

Writing and editing. In this role, you’ll spend a significant amount of time writing technical blog posts, interviewing developers and helping them write great posts, tutorials and documentation where needed.

Code. Be passionate about the technologies we use and along with other developers lead, guide, and participate in open source projects which drive the success of Supermetrics. Keep up to date with various open source technologies used at Supermetrics.

Nurture a community. Advocate for Supermetrics amongst developer communities and in open source communities supported by Supermetrics (either with time or money).

Nurture developers. Help build training materials and internal developer training programs.

Teach. Bring new tools, practices, and technologies to the Supermetrics diverse engineering team.

Become a product expert. Learn about the various developers using Supermetrics products and APIs and bring their insight and needs to the product and engineering teams.

🔐 Some key information to help you decide on this role:

Our key programming languages are PHP 7 / 8, React, NodeJS, Python, our technology stack includes MySQL (and derivatives), Presto, Redis, Elastic/OpenSearch, Google sdsdBigQuery and more.

Our cloud setup is hybrid: AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Azure.

We already support various open-source projects financially and lead at least one.

While we expect you to be an advocate, we do expect you to learn our stack and participate in various parts of the engineering team at least at the start. Being passionate about software development will be a key deciding factor.

We would expect you to be able to show a portfolio of your work from github, gitlab, bitbucket etc.
