QA Test Engineer
About the role and about You:
This is an exciting new role within our organization that will be focused on test strategy and execution around the devices our customers use to Zwift. You will have the opportunity to support us in this new venture by building out and strengthening our testing process with wireless connectivity and firmware compatibility testing. The work delivered in this role will be integral to our business objectives in delivering a fun and fully connected experience for all Zwifters. While we are offering all employees remote work during the pandemic, this role will require you to be local near our Long Beach HQ, as you will need direct access to our equipment in the QA Lab, which comes with a beautiful view over the Long Beach marina, Queen Mary, and downtown. What you will do:
- Test potential game improvements that are implemented with fitness technology firmware
- Design, build, and execute manual test cases that verifies both functional and non-functional requirements of our software
- Design, plan, write, maintain and execute automated tests scripts around firmware/software functionality
- Work cross-functionally with our development, product and program teams
- Write Unit Tests working with the game client engineers on the team
- Develop effective test strategies for our 3rd party partner’s devices
- Collaborate with Zwift’s internal partner groups debugging issues
- Collaborate with development and QA teams working on this project to ensure requirements are understood, achievable, and tested
- Investigate and debug difficult problems, and help drive them to closure
- Be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
- Strong attention to detail and process that includes documentation of tests and developing/executing project plans, specifying instrumentation and diagnostics for verifying product features, specifying/ implementing process control and data collection
What we are looking for:
- 2+ years experience of hardware and firmware integration testing
- 2+ years of automation testing experience
- Experience in developing and or creating Unit Tests in C/C++
- Working experience with CI/CD Pipelines
- Strong understanding of the SDLC and working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Understanding of wireless networks and networking in general
- Test Engineering experience with testing wireless communication protocols and using protocol analyzers
- Experience testing wireless systems among a variety of products (Wireless headphones w/ Smart Devices, Wireless controllers, etc.)
- Test Engineering experience with Bluetooth profiles/stack and related tools
- Understanding how to collect, analyze and present data to senior management
- Estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including executive presentation
- Experience with JIRA & Testrail
- Bachelors in Computer Science
