Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer that has a background in micro-services and big-data technology-stacks to join our cross-functional team of talented Software Engineers, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. The team’s mission is to extend Nexthink’s product offering with innovative new AI and Analytics features that leverage Nexthink’s unique datasets to improve the day-to-day experience of millions of our customers’ employees at work around the world.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing our big-data infrastructure and applications, prototyping data-driven features, and bringing them to production. This will require:

• Building data pipelines to collect, prepare, and organize large volumes of data for various applications
• Working closely with Data Scientists to prototype and iterate on new data-driven features in fast cycles of experimentation and consolidation
• Deploying AI models and other data-driven features safely to a production environment following our processes
• Contributing to the evolution of our data processing infrastructure and operating procedures
• Aligning with and contributing to our software engineering best practices

Qualifications

• Proven track record in successfully building and operating data pipelines using tools like Kafka and Spark
• Worked on product features that were released in a production cloud environment (backend); Knowledge of AWS is a plus
• Experience with cloud software architecture: micro-services, APIs, container deployment (e.g.: Docker, Kubernetes); DevOps experience is a plus
• Understanding of data and application architecture design principles and processes
• Advanced experience of at least one of Python, Java, or Scala, and willingness to learn others
• Experience of building software as part of a team
• Passion for building a system from the ground up; start-up experience is a plus
• Understanding of basic statistics and ML is a plus
• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent qualification
• The ability to communicate complicated concepts in simple ways is vital as you will be working in a cross-functional environment
• Enthusiastic and flexible with a desire to learn, take initiative, independent
• Fluent in English, French is a plus

The seniority will depend on the level of mastery and experience with cloud based big data solutions.
