As a (Senior) Data Engineer (all genders) you will be part of our data engineering team who have built out various data infrastructure tools and experimentation platforms which support our core product and business functions. You will be responsible for leading technical decisions and tasks related to data products and data systems. Ideally, you can identify architectural or business opportunities and implement solutions to solve problems at hand. To be successful you have an interest or experience in any of the following: distributed systems, AWS, data processing, software engineering and system design or data modelling concepts or data products.

 

What you do

  

  • Defining and building new systems architecture in AWS.

  • Building real time event systems which are used to power the entire company

  • Defining development and testing standards Automating Data Infrastructure related tasks.

  • Help build high throughput micro-services which consume data from all over the company.

  • Build and operate data systems which are used by different engineering teams across the company.

 

What you know & who you are

 

  • Proven experience in one of our core programming languages. Ideally, Python/Scala/Kotlin or a willingness to learn.

  • Experience in cloud environments (AWS)

  • Experience in applying software development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews and monitoring.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with constant exchange between product, data science and engineering.

  • Excitement to work with cutting-edge technology, taking chances, experimenting and discovering new and more efficient ways to get things done.

  • At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing large scale data/distributed jobs.

  • Fluent English skills.

  • Bonus: Experience in DevOps as well as experience working on data products, machine learning, search, recommender systems or computer vision systems.
