Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong desire to learn and innovate – you help challenge the status quo, and you are very eager to develop new skills to help Nexthink stay on the leading edge of digital employee experience. You should be heavily motivated by both the product and technology stack. As a Senior Software Engineer at Nexthink, we expect you to ensure that the delivered software is of the highest quality, fulfilling both functional and non-functional requirements. You will participate in all stages of software development and collaborate with different teams.

You are highly motivated, result-driven, and detail-oriented. You have a high sense of product ownership, constantly learning and enhancing your skills (both hard and soft), and you are familiar with the concepts and patterns described in the Reactive Manifesto. You are pragmatic, open to feedback, accountable, and a team player.

Main functions:

  • Understand the requirements, goals and constraints to translate insights into business recommendations;
  • Design, implement, deliver and validate cloud-native microservices for a high-scalable SaaS platform;
  • Maintain the highest code quality standards and help the team to improve its best practices; 
  • Work with the agile iterative/incremental mindset; 
  • Participate in the test phase, from the unit test to the system integration test; 
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and stability issues; 
  • Participate in the product release delivery process and L3 support and bug fixes.


  • 7+ years of experience in software development with a strong execution mindset.
  • 3+ years of experience working with modern agile product development teams of engineers, product managers and designers.
  • Proficiency with one or more programming languages. Java (with Spring Boot/Micronaut) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and monitoring skills with experience in modern tools (e.g. Kibana, New Relic, Grafana).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (with technical and non-technical partners)
  • Experience working with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Professional-level English spoken and written.

Valued optional experience

  • Experience with containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with DBMS (e.g. ClickHouse)
  • Experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
  • Expertise in at least one cloud platform (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Practical experience developing RESTful APIs in distributed systems
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Contribution to open-source projects

What will your day be like ​​​

  • Connect to the daily meeting to exchange information with your colleagues about your progress, blocks and plans for the day. 
  • Collaborate with product design, analysis, support and management to understand the problems we want to solve and explore how we can solve them. 
  • Watch the Jenkins pipeline, solve any issue with the quality gate and deploy the new artifact into a Kubernetes cluster using terraform scripts. 
  • Open a pull request so that your colleagues can give useful feedback or review your code from other colleagues to learn and improve together. 
  • Tune in to the refinement meeting to provide helpful feedback so we can better tackle a user story. Bring your expertise on specific topics because you and your team decide what is the best way to implement a new feature. 
  • Lead a sprint review showing our stakeholders the progress of a feature and getting feedback to improve our customers' experience. 
  • Connect to the retrospective and exchange feelings and sensations of the sprint after having enjoyed 10 minutes of an energizer.
