Do you want to make a positive impact on people's health, work in a company with a flat hierarchy and work on test automation of applications in Golang/Java? Then we are looking for you to join us as a Backend Engineer in Test in our Berlin team! Our cross functional team develops the application for our connected fitness equipment and backend services. Our aim is to improve the gym experience for everyone by providing effective training plans and motivating training visualization.

  • You work as part of a team, taking responsibility for various tasks including expanding our test automation effort and including it as part of our value stream
  • You design, develop and setup new tests and tools that empowers our testing effort
  • You collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to understand how new and existing features should be tested 
  • You implement new features and streamline existing systems with testability in mind
YOUR FITNESS LEVEL
  •  You have at least 3 years of practical experience as a Backend Developer in Test 
  • You are familiar with the testing pyramid, chaos engineering and load testing and know how to use those concepts to prevent complicated systems from breaking
  • You are a good mentor and want to share with your team how to write fitting tests 
  • You have worked with and administered Continuous Integration systems and optimized those regarding test execution
  • You are able to convert product requirements into formulated test scenarios and integrate those early in the development process
  • You have worked in a Golang and/or Java environment using microservice before (terms like Event-Driven Architectures, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes gRPC are nothing new to you)
YOUR TRAINING GOAL FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS
  • You took ownership of test automation, you are able to understand its architecture and deliver on product requirements and features with deep focus on improving testability and functionality
  • You provided guidance to other engineers and deliver feedback in a constructive manner
  • You are able to participate in the service duty rotation; coming in close contact with the service team to help out with any issues that are reported in the field during a business day
  • You familiarized yourself with the EGYM ecosystem and the role of the different teams in the software engineering department
