VP of Credit Risk

We are looking for a VP of Credit Risk who will play a key role in taking our creator financing business to the next level. Jellysmack is a one-of-kind business that helps the top creators in the world to grow their revenue and reach from a single platform (like youtube) to all platforms (like facebook, snap, tik tok, instagram, and more). We have already generated hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue streams for creators and are seeking to use our financial backing to help them go even bigger.
The creator finance team’s mission is to deploy capital into our creators’ businesses to accelerate production, fund new projects, hire teams, or anything else to help them “Go Bigger”. We do this uniquely by predicting the value of their past and future revenues and lending against those assets in a variety of creator-friendly structures to meet their unique needs.
The VP of Credit Risk will be responsible for building an enterprise grade asset-backed risk management strategy. They will use our treasure trove of historical data on creator performance to accurately value and lend against the future cash flows of a creator's video assets across platforms. They will work closely with the product team to build unique capital products that are creator-friendly and partnership oriented. They will track the value of creator assets over time, optimizing the models for risk taking, and looking for unique pockets of value which traditional lenders overlook. This person will be a key member of the Creator Finance leadership team, with the responsibility to effectively balance opportunity and risk while creating value for investors, creators, and the business in harmony.
Requirements
- Build and own the end-to-end risk strategy for extending capital and credit against past and future creator earnings on platforms including youtube, facebook, and snapchat
- Use past earnings data, and industry trends and other relevant data sets to build models capable of predicting future earnings and risks across multiple verticals
- Design and hire risk and analytics organization that can start small and scale rapidly as business expands
- Write and implement risk management policies and procedures that can be communicated and both executive and operational team levels
- Collaborate effectively with business and revenue teams to ensure there is an effective balance between won business and balance sheet risk
- Create reporting systems, metrics, and KPIs that are in-line with major balance sheet investor expectations
- Develop predictive analytics technology that makes profit/risk balance a core differentiator of the business
- Partner closely with finance organization to manage multi-million dollar lending book to industry leading profitability while managing risks within acceptable tolerance levels
- Partner closely with highly experienced data science team to build models that identify early talent with high growth potential
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in credit or structured finance risk management
- Experience operating in startup environment, building strategy and teams from the ground up and rapidly scaling a risk organization
- Strong knowledge of capital and structured finance markets to understand what investors will require to provide large lines and competitive costs of capital
- Ability to build and manage credit/lending P&L
- Strong interpersonal skills both with customers and internal stakeholders
- Preferred, experience lending against future earnings predictions
- Preferred, experience lending to “talent” or entertainment ventures
