📍Based a minimum of two days per week at our HQ right by Spitalfields!

🌍 We are flexible on whether you are full time or part time on a 4 days p/w basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Goodlord’s mission is to provide the best renting experience in the world and we’ll only be able to achieve this by making sure we continue to be a Great Place to Work and the number one choice for talent in our markets.

We are a 'People Team', and so internally, you will be our People Partner! We’re on the hunt for an experienced People Partner to drive the people agenda and strategy for our Goodlord Head Office functions - including Operations, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Adoption etc.

Reporting to the People Director, you’ll be accountable for delivering the people strategy, attracting, managing and retaining talent and leading on all employee relations within our HQ teams.

You will also be responsible for managing People Operations - a critical function within our team that ensures smooth service delivery for our internal customers.

This role is an exciting combination of strategic, advisory and operational - you’ll be a highly respected and valued member of the team in a fast-paced environment that is genuinely people-centric, evidenced by our recent #10 ranking in UK's Best Workplaces 2022 (large category). This is a great role if you have solid experience working as a Business Partner in a scale-up environment.

No two days are ever the same at Goodlord so what you’ll be up to will vary. The pace we move at also means priorities will change and you’ll need to be comfortable with this (we’ll support you!). But these are the things that will be core to your role and will keep you busy.

The day to day stuff:

  • Work with the People Team and Leadership Team Heads to define and execute the people priorities that align with the experience we want to create for our people and that increase satisfaction and drive performance and retention.
  • Work with our Leaders to identify and develop their talent and ensure we create as many career-defining experiences for all our people.
  • Own the employee life cycle and key People practices for your teams - (onboarding, resourcing, workforce planning, reward and recognition, career progression, engagement survey action planning etc).
  • Identify areas that enable our business to become better and better; run projects and drive change initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Talent Acquisition to deliver the Talent Strategy, making sure we are operating in line with the Resource plan and can attract top talent from across the UK
  • Identify, design and deliver training and other learning opportunities.
  • Build our insight in how our Goodlordians feel and what’s important to them
  • Provide development and coaching for our Managers on how to facilitate reviews, give feedback, manage performance and how to have regular and human conversations
  • Pre-empt, lead and resolve complex employee relations issues including supervising any collective arrangements used by the team.
  • Manage our People Operations Team, supporting the team in ensuring our people processes and procedures are efficient, compliant and representative of our culture

ABOUT YOU

We’re not interested in HR qualifications; what we care about is that you understand how people tick and how to create innovative solutions that enable them to perform.

What matters to us is someone who demonstrates:

  • Solid experience as a People / HR business partner in a high-performing People team (ideally where scaling a company has been one of your priorities),
  • Passion for growing teams and cultivating an inclusive culture where the best and brightest can thrive.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills that are a catalyst for sound, objective, considered thinking on all people matters.
  • A sixth sense when it comes to people; you can identify what is happening at an individual, team and company level - you can understand why something is happening and the most effective ways address it
  • Experience in managing service delivery, operational processes to a high standard.
  • Strong people management skills; balancing compassionate leadership with drive for results.
  • A passion for creating a great place to work through hiring, managing, developing and retaining great people
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to move between listening to, guiding and coaching others at all levels
  • Confidence in analysing data from multiple sources and interpreting into operational strategic guidance for key stakeholders
  • Enjoyment in delivering as part of a team
  • The ability to challenge our leaders to make better decisions (in a nice way!)
  • Common sense and pragmatic approach in spotting opportunities to drive better results and simplify and improve processes
  • The ability to thrive when delivering at speed and ready to get stuck into whatever challenge hits your desk with relish.
  • Someone who understands how we scale and add to our culture whilst remaining a strong ambassador of our values

It would also be great if:

  • what we’re doing here at Goodlord excites you!
  • you know what it’s like to work in a young company and love the vibe (and sometimes chaos!)

ABOUT US

We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, landlord and tenant. We knew generation rent would lead to more tenants, with higher digital expectations and we were confident we could provide a solution.

And we did. Like all high growth companies it’s been a bit of a roller coaster journey, but we’re now stronger than ever, with over 2500 happy customers and exciting new products. We have ambitious plans but with William Reeve at the helm alongside co-founder Tom Mundy and a brilliant team of over 250 talented Goodlordians we are confident we’ll achieve these.

Our values guide our decisions, the way we work, our culture and the people we ask to join the team. We work hard, have fun and support each other. We’re not afraid to make mistakes (we’d never learn if we didn’t) and we’re always looking to challenge ourselves. Our style is collaboration based on honesty, friendship and respect.

And in the past year we’re proud to have been recognised as a Great Place to work. No one likes a show off, but we can’t not shout about this. We’ve worked hard to make Goodlord great, and it’s important you know this isn’t just words on paper; Goodlordians have validated this which has led to us being accredited:
