We are building a marketplace between operators and creators. Our mission is to help content creators get the best post-production with amazing quality and performance.

Backend, Frontend Engineers, Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and Product Managers, and more than 150 people are behind the scenes every day to allow our creators to exploit their full potential. JellyStudio is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager AI to join the team!

Your mission:

As an Engineering Manager for the AI team, you'll manage one of the AI teams composed of Applied Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers with a focus on people, processes, and organization. This will include people development and career progression, headcount management, team success & well-being, improving internal processes, organizing the team, supporting data strategy, and researching new technologies to bring the team to the next level.

You will collaborate with:

• As an Applied Scientist, you manage to construct state-of-the-art solutions to tackle business problems.
• You manage machine learning engineers, who share product responsibility with applied scientists, from modeling to monitoring production behavior.
• AI Lab researchers are looking for new tools of interest.
• Deep learning is used by the AI Product Manager to deeply understand needs and build solutions that are actionable and adopted by their end users.
• AI Lead, which has the technical leadership of the team you manage.

It’s really important to understand that you will be a triad with Lead AI and AI PM.

Some examples of the many data science topics covered in the tribe you will be in :

• Optimize our marketplace staffing: solve the exciting assignment problem, matching tasks and operators in a scalable way, while optimizing the performance of our videos.
• Dynamic pricing: As in every marketplace, give the right price to the right task in order to fairly pay the operators for their work and guarantee a good and profitable delivery pace.
• AB Testing edited videos: all edited videos are tested before posting them on network platforms. We use ML here to have good control over the quality of the content we post.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• supporting people in their personal and technical development. Making the best out of people, helping them put themselves forward, communicate, vulgarize, and maximize the value of their work.
• ensuring that data workers are happy and fulfilled in their daily dutiesShe/he must listen to and show empathy for the shared feedback from her/his staff.
• As a coach, you must help her or his staff get better (in terms of delivery, documentation, study reports, presentation, organization, etc.).
• Define and follow measurable and challenging objectives for all your people.
• Be sure that the roadmap of your tribe in terms of AI is clear and follows good processes.
• As both internal and external communication are very important for us, you will help and encourage the people you manage to communicate.
• recruiting top talent to join the team and ensuring that newcomers are properly onboarded.

A little about you:

• MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• 15+ years of experience in the industry with at least 5 years of managing more than 5 people.
• Excellent organizational management and strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department.
• Very good communication skills both oral and written.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Languages: Python, C++
• Aurora, Redshift, and ElasticSearch on AWS
• Libraries: Pandas, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scikit-learn
• MLOps: Sagemaker, Gitlab, Airflow, Docker
• Environment: we use PyCharm, VSCode, VIM, and Jupyter, but we’re open to anything on any OS!
