The Role

Jellysmack is seeking a highly motivated and organized Director, Partnerships, Marquee Business to join our new Marquee Business team and be in charge of forging new celebrity talent partnerships.

The ideal candidate is excited by the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, extremely detail-orientated, a self-starter, and highly competent in the areas of deal-making, negotiating, prospecting, sales and account management, and has rolodex of talent and their representatives in the film, TV, entertainment, sports and food spaces.

This position will report into the Vice President, Marquee Business and will require cross-functional collaboration with other members of the organization.

The Responsibilities

The Director, Partnerships, Marquee Business will be responsible for identifying celebrity talent partners, conducting outreach, presenting business models and content strategies and negotiating agreements in service of building long-lasting working relationships and digital content partnerships.

  • Identify, conduct outreach, present our offering and advance discussions with talent partners across a variety of different sectors that are good fits for the Marquee service
  • Architect partnership models and deal structures to govern these partnerships
  • Negotiate partnership agreements with entertainment talent, professional athletes, celebrity chefs and other public figures for our Marquee content program
  • Cultivate strong relationships with talent representatives across multiple categories of the talent ecosystem and evangelize for Jellysmack within the entertainment industry
  • Liaise with development to marry custom content strategies with celebrity talent, developing multi-platform approaches to digital content that works within the talent’s unique constraints
  • Facilitate the integration of partners into the larger Jellysmack business and be able to flag certain areas of friction, and then work with internal teams to address
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in marketing, finance, operations, legal and product to ensure partners success and drive key KPI’s
  • Drive partnerships to meet quarterly and annual goals around business growth
  • Maintain effective communication with partners and find timely solutions to resolve issues and challenges
  • Manage all key reporting metrics in a timely and meticulous fashion

Requirements

The Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in working in a business development, talent-facing role such as representation, partnerships, and content with a track record of closing deals and executing successful partnerships
  • In-depth knowledge of the talent, entertainment, sports and influencer landscape, including creator digital monetization solutions
  • Key network of contacts at potential partners within talent agencies, sports agencies, management and PR firms, that can be immediately leveraged
  • Strong business development skills such as making key prospects lists, creating and identifying deal structures, and strategizing how to go to market
  • Strong sales mindset in terms of effectively positioning the key offerings to continue enhance and refine the value proposition
  • Deep understanding of social media and analytics with an emphasis on video across multiple platforms
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone
  • Win-win attitude, with a hunger to meet and exceed goals as well as problem solve with creative solutions
  • Desire to work in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Have a sense of what’s popular and buzzworthy while not being afraid to take risks to identify/introduce new partners and ideas
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and constantly re-evaluate and set priorities is a must
