We currently have a requirement for a consultant within route optimization at AMCS. As a consultant you will be part of the professional services team that is responsible for implementing our route optimization software packages at customers. We are growing and are currently have a requirement looking for a new consultants within intelligent optimization at the AMCS Amsterdam office. As a consultant you will be part of the professional services team that is responsible for the operations of our route optimization software packages at our customers.

Our solutions cover:

• Static optimization of master plans and routes
• Dynamic planning and execution of daily or weekly plans
• Web based front ends
• Mobile Web app for live feedback from drivers

We develop generic, scalable systems capable of satisfying our broad range of customers. Our technology stack is based on Windows and covers:

• C# (Web Servers, Auxiliary systems, interface mapping)
• JavaScript/Typescript (Web front ends)
• Git (source code control)
• Azure DevOps (cloud pipeline deployment, test automation)

The AMCS routing solutions are very complex software packages based on advanced optimization algorithms and state of the art software technology. As the our solutions typically are central and mission very critical to our customers it requires the highest degree of skills and dedication of the operations team.

We want our consultants to master the broad portfolio of products and services we are offering and to gradually become experts within one or more of the key industries we are operating within. After around 3 weeks of introductory training, you will be assigned to project work and before you know it you will be ready to fly!

As a consultant you will be involved in many different parts of the operations: technical design and specifications, installation, test, documentation, training, etc. As we are working with small, dedicated operations teams, a high degree of responsibility and versatility is required from the consultants. Most of  of the job will be carried out from the AMCS offices in Amsterdam, but there will also be activities on site at the customer with direct interaction with super users, IT professionals, and project management, etc.. You will also get to visit Copenhagen where the main office for Routing in located.

Who Do We Seek?

We need people with:

• Strong analytical skills – preferably knowledge and/or experience within operations research
• Technical flair and some programming experience
• Motivation for interacting with customers and for delivering highest standard services

Regardless of where you have your key interests, we promise a challenging and exciting work environment!

You probably have a master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science and be fluent in both written and spoken English. Our office language is Dutch, so we expect you to speak Dutch. Although not a requirement, German or French language skills are considered a plus.

Overall, we need excellent consultants who sets high standards for themselves. It’s OK if you have no experience with the routing business, yet! The important thing is that you share our passion for delivering high quality planning solutions and for building strong and lasting customer relations.
