Our robots and infrastructure leverage an incredible number of linux subsystems to perform their jobs - from Networking to USB to GPU drivers. Your goal will be to improve reliability and increase performance wherever our system touches the OS - whether in our robotics code, our device drivers, or our configuration.

Your Goals

    • Interface with numerous types of hardware on the robot - including wifi cards, cellular modems, Nvidia GPUs, USB devices, and audio devices
    • Investigate and root cause reliability issues that come from the interface of our hardware and software systems.
    • Design new systems for OTA and help bringup future versions of robot hardware
    • Contribute to design discussions and code reviews

Your Experience

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
    • 3+ years of industry experience (or equivalent) managing Linux systems
    • Experience with the Linux networking stack, and Network management
    • Experience with hardware and electrical level issues such as USB, wifi, PCI, ESD, Grounding, etc
    • Familiarity with python and C++
    • Strong communication skills with engineers on other teams

Bonus Points

    • Experience with the Linux audio / video stack (ALSA, V4L)
    • Experience with Robotics or ROS
    • Experience with electrical engineering and PCB design
    • Have worked in a startup environment
    • Experience developing electronics or firmware
