ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re on the hunt for an experienced People Partner to drive the people agenda for our Goodlord Head Office functions - including Operations, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Adoption etc.

Reporting to the People Director, you’ll be accountable for delivering the people strategy, attracting, managing and retaining talent and leading on all employee relations within the teams.

You will also be responsible for managing People Operations - a critical function within our team that ensures smooth service delivery for our internal customers.

The day to day stuff:

No two days are ever the same at Goodlord so what you’ll be up to will vary. The pace we move at also means priorities will change and you’ll need to be comfortable with this and you’ll have plenty of support. These are the things that will be core to your role and will keep you busy:

  • Work with the People Team and Leadership Team Heads to define and execute the people priorities that align with the experience we want to create for our people and that increase satisfaction and drive performance and retention.
  • Work with our Leaders to identify and develop their talent and ensure we create as many career-defining experiences for all our people.
  • Own the employee life cycle and key People practices for your teams - (onboarding, resourcing, workforce planning, reward and recognition, career progression, engagement survey action planning etc).
  • Identify areas that enable our business to become better and better; run projects and drive change initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Talent Acquisition to deliver the Talent Strategy, making sure we are operating in line with the Resource plan and can attract top talent from across the UK
  • Identify, design and deliver training and other learning opportunities.
  • Build our insight in how our Goodlordians feel and what’s important to them
  • Provide development and coaching for our Managers on how to facilitate reviews, give feedback, manage performance and how to have regular and human conversations
  • Pre-empt, lead and resolve complex employee relations issues including supervising any collective arrangements used by the team.
  • Manage our People Operations Team, supporting the team in ensuring our people processes and procedures are efficient, compliant and representative of our culture

ABOUT YOU:

We’re not interested in HR qualifications, whether you have a degree, what sector you’ve got experience in; what we care about is that you understand how people tick and how to create innovative solutions that enable them to perform.

What matters to us is someone who demonstrates:

  • Experience as a People / HR business partner in a high growth, fast paced environment
  • Excellent people judgement with sound, objective, considered thinking on all people matters
  • A sixth sense when it comes to people; you can identify what is happening at an individual, team and company level - you can understand why something is happening and the most effective ways address it
  • Experience in managing service delivery, operational processes to a high standard.
  • Strong people management skills; balancing compassionate leadership with drive for results.
  • A passion for creating a great place to work through hiring, managing, developing and retaining great people
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to move between listening to, guiding and coaching others at all levels
  • Confidence in analysing data from multiple sources and interpreting into operational strategic guidance for key stakeholders
  • Enjoyment in delivering as part of a team
  • The ability to challenge our leaders to make better decisions (in a nice way!)
  • Common sense and pragmatic approach in spotting opportunities to drive better results and simplify and improve processes
  • The ability to thrive when delivering at speed and ready to get stuck into whatever challenge hits your desk with relish.
  • Someone who understands how we scale and add to our culture whilst remaining a strong ambassador of our values
