Dealing with death is hard, and here at Farewill we are on a mission to change that. We use technology to seamlessly connect beautifully-designed online experiences with world-class human support that makes every death a simple, affordable, brighter goodbye. We started in December 2016 when we launched our online wills business. Since then we’ve launched our probate and funeral businesses, raised >£600m in pledged income for Charities, built a team of 80 Farewillians, and raised money from some brilliant investors. We’ve won a tonne of awards and have through-the-roof NPS & Trustpilot scores.

We’re looking for a People Operations Manager to support our growing team and create an amazing employee experience for every Farewillian. This is a high impact role that reports into our VP People.

Our People Operations Manager will be a generalist who is comfortable working all across the People agenda, from hands-on tactical work to creating strategic programmes and frameworks. We are looking for someone who loves to build things, and can launch new initiatives and lead iterations, as well as nurture what’s already great about working at Farewill. They’re a smart, empathetic and pragmatic person who cares about the details in delivering operational excellence, is motivated by helping others and wants to create a truly unique People experience that reflects a distinctive strategy, mission and culture. If this all sounds like a fit, and you are excited to have a massive impact and be a multiplier for the engagement and productivity of our whole team, then we can’t wait to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the frontline to our team, helping to quickly and enthusiastically resolve People-related issues and questions
  • Own and iterate on all of our People processes, policies and workflows
  • Research, design, test and implement scalable People frameworks, like onboarding and employee development
  • Develop meaningful relationships at all levels across the business and help managers proactively look after the health of their teams
  • Partner with our Talent team in ensuring a smooth transition from candidate to employee experience
  • Measure our approach to engagement and eNPS, and use your insight to drive the right tactics and conversations within the People team
  • Stay in the loop with current industry trends and ideas, and inspire our team to be proactive in evolving our approach to how we work
  • Be a core values and cultural champion at Farewill

Requirements

About you:

  • You love working in People Operations and believe in the impact a well-run People organisation can make on the overall health and success of a business
  • You have a genuine enthusiasm for helping others and consider empathy to be one of your strengths
  • You sweat the details and run a tight ship when it comes to being organised, communicative and thorough
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and change, and consider yourself more of a builder than just a maintainer
  • You are proactive, motivated and driven, and seek opportunities that optimise for your learning and growth
  • You enjoy the journey; even when the work is hard, you find time for a laugh or a catch-up with your teammates

Benefits

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary of £45-60K plus generous stock options
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays
  • Flexible working including when you start & end your day, and how often you come into the office
  • Personal development budget of 3 days and £1000 per year
  • Regular ‘passion talks’, team socials & company-wide events (next up is our summer social!)
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution to people's lives and deaths
And much more!

Our hiring process:

  • You will have an initial conversation with someone from our Talent team. We’ll be keen to learn more about you and your experience, and we’d love to tell you more about Farewill
  • You’ll then spend time with our VP People and members of the People team so we can talk in more depth about all things People Ops. We will share a few topics in advance so that you can prepare ahead of time
  • As a final step, we will have you meet our founder and CEO so you can get an even better feel for our company and culture
  • If all goes well, we’ll make you an offer and hopefully it won’t be long until you join us!
