Backend Engineer

The opportunity

At LoveCrafts we’re building an online community for crafters. You will be joining a cross-functional and distributed team dedicated to innovative experiences for millions of crafters globally.

We have launched a new user experience based on GraphQL and next-gen Vue Storefront – the most popular eCommerce PWA which we sponsor and participate in its development. Our catalogue and commerce backend is commercetools, a leader in headless commerce. Together they will be the foundation for further innovation and our future growth. This is where you come in, we are looking for an innovative Engineer to join our global team of e-commerce whizzes to help move our growth to the next level. 

This is a full-time remote role on a contractor basis, ideally based in Turkey.

What you will be doing

• Work in cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional experiences for our users
• Develop, integrate and maintain backend services
• Contribute to architectural design, testing, code reviews and documentation
• Share knowledge and experience with team members
• Contribute to open-source software

You will have

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience working with Node.js
• Experience consuming from APIs (such as REST or GraphQL APIs)
• Experience building and maintaining backend services, serverless experience is a bonus
• Willing to participate in our on-call rota
• Upper-intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English

The acquisition of the successful family-run business WEBS and the important UK crafting site Deramores marks a significant milestone in our journey to becoming the end-to-end destination for craft enthusiasts around the world.
