We are looking for a fantastic analyst to help us understand our customers and our business better.

This is an amazing role for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of e-commerce economics, marketing and strategy, helping us answer key questions that will drive real action and decision making in the teams. We’re investing heavily in our data by building a data warehouse and installing Looker: you’ll help steward the development of these products on behalf of the Marketing team.

If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, enjoy analytical problem-solving and have uncommon insight into complex data that you can communicate and defend, then we can’t wait to meet you!

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct a range of one-off projects/analyses which could include things like understanding the mix of products and price points; investigating cost price changes over time, how to best manage the email subscriber list and how our marketing channels impact customer value for example ‘What happens to the number of times a customer orders from us when they follow us on Instagram?’ and ‘When people read a set of instructions, how likely are they to go on to purchase the materials, and what factors affect this?’
  • You’ll be working closely with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to make sure that as a business we have easy access to all the data that is required to understand our performance and answer questions about our customers. Under the guidance of the BI team, you’ll own and develop our most complex segmentations and models as code inside our data warehouse, and make them available to the wider business through Looker.
  • Own the daily trading metrics that allow us to track performance versus goals, understanding behaviour at a granular level and allowing the team to react quickly to changes in trading performance.
  • Work closely with the marketing insights manager and the channel leads to understand the key drivers of marketing performance and how best to forecast and improve it.
  • Work to automate the feedback loops from data to action, so that marketing activities react to the data on their performance
  • Analyse competitor performance and report insights and recommendations to the rest of the business
  • Keep the whole company updated with our progress through presentations at all-hands meetings

Who you are

  • Possess uncommon problem-solving skills. A keen sense of what analysis should be prioritised and excellent execution
  • You need to be really strong at understanding and working with data to drive clear recommendations on how we can improve what we do and how we do things.
  • You have at least basic SQL and a strong desire to develop it. Advanced SQL and data warehousing experience will be a big advantage
  • Able to clearly communicate ideas and conclusions (written and oral)
  • Highly IT literate and proficient in Excel and Google Docs
  • Excellent Maths
  • Comfortable challenging others and being challenged in the pursuit of getting the right answer
  • Independent with an entrepreneurial mindset - happy to get stuck in and get stuff done

What we’re offering

  • Competitive salary to reflect your skills and experience
  • Great benefits including Options over shares, pension plan, private healthcare, health cash plan and some other great perks!
  • 25 holiday days pro rata + a day off for your birthday.
  • Smart colleagues and supportive team- you will join a fantastic team of really bright, motivated, and driven individuals who will support you at every stage of your journey
  • Working environment that values excellence
  • Central London Location, although working remotely through the COVID pandemic and will continue with a hybrid-remote approach post pandemic

About us

At LoveCrafts we’re building online communities for crafters: homes for makers where they can find inspiration for their latest projects, learn new techniques, easily source all their supplies and share their creations with like-minded makers around the world.

Since launching in 2012, we’ve grown incredibly quickly. We've graduated from the Future Fifty were 20th place on the FT’s list of fastest growing European companies is thanks to the hard work of our team of smart, kind makers based in London, Kyiv and in the USA.
