The PreSales Enterprise Architect is a key customer-facing role within the PreSales function. You will act as a domain expert to dedicated accounts and sales teams. You will help determine how the Salsify CommerceXM platform fits into the business and IT architecture of top customers in industries like Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Department and Home, Apparel and many more . With a broad background including business, data and technical architecture as well as cloud computing, the Enterprise Architect will map the transformation requirements of some of the largest Companies in the world to the optimal Salsify solution whilst helping guide Brand Manufactures and Retailers on their Digital Transformation journey.

A Day in the Life:

As an Enterprise Architect, no two days are the same. You are a valued team member, collaborator, contributor and inspiring leader who will spend the majority of your time helping our strategic customers on their digital transformation journey. That said, a typical day may start with a team call where you share experiences and expertise with your colleagues in the broader Sales and PreSales teams. You may then start work on a presentation with the CIO, CDO and architecture teams  of a major Brand or Retailer, using assets from the vast Salsify repository as well as using your own creativity. You help define a target architecture and roadmap for their future, using your knowledge on industry trends, best practices and customer references. You also meet up with the CISO and explore how our security and compliance initiatives can help meet their needs. The afternoon will be spent presenting your industry point of view to the CDO’s team of another top account and debating the prioritization of key initiatives to support corporate goals.

How You'll Make an Impact:

In this role you will act as an industry-domain specialist to new prospects and customers of the Salsify Platform and how it fits into an enterprise business and IT architecture.  With a broad IT background including: business architecture, technical architecture, security and compliance, software/systems engineering and cloud computing, you will help position Salsify solutions and transform customer business strategy into their success.

To be successful in this role you should have strong knowledge of the commerce landscape; a strong technical point of view, able to discuss with CTO/CIO, CISO and Chief Digital Officers future trends and challenges and provide a Salsify perspective on how these will be addressed. As the Enterprise Architect you understand business and technical requirements and help customers develop and refine a technical strategy and Salsify solution fit.

The Enterprise Architect will help our customers and sales teams design specific product deployment roadmaps against business strategies. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting, building solutions that scale.

You'll Enjoy This Role If You Have:

• Strong presales/consulting experience from a SaaS vendor, Systems Integrator or other consulting organization
• Ability to connect technology with measurable business value. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
• Solid Commerce-Industry experience
• A good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud based platforms as well as the more traditional on-premise solutions typically used (SAP, Stibo, Oracle, Informatica, etc.)
• Familiarity with major cloud offerings in the market and ability to discuss cloud architecture
• A solid understanding of data architecture best practices
• A good understanding of enterprise application integration, and an understanding of integration considerations such as process orchestration, customer data integration and master data management.

Additional Skills (useful but not required):

• Enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF
• Previous practitioner and/or implementation experience of Salsify solutions or relevant solutions in PIM, MDM, PLM, ERP
• Previous development or project management experience
• Experience in an Architect role in an organization
• An understanding of design thinking
• Understanding of emerging solutions such as mobile, AI and their relevance to the industry
• Familiar with principles of network, application and information security
• MuleSoft (or comparable iPaaS) Developer or Platform Architect Certification
