Fergal Mullen is a co-founder and Partner with Highland Europe focused on consumer facing internet companies (e-commerce, market-place models, supporting eCommerce and marketing infrastructure) and SaaS enterprise software companies. Fergal represents Highland Europe on the boards of AMCS Group, GetYourGuide.com, Nexthink and Finanzcheck.
Until the formation of Highland Europe, Fergal was a General Partner with Highland Capital Partners. He launched the firm's Europe investment initiative and continues to represent Highland Capital Partners on the boards of Spartoo.com and Wooga. He is a former director of GlassesDirect (acquired by Essilor), PhotoBox (acquired by Exponent & Electra), Privalia (acquired by VentePrivée), Autoquake, Coremetrics (acquired by IBM), Eleven Technology (acquired by Trimble), M7 (acquired by BEA) and VistaPrint (IPO: NASDAQ).
Before joining Highland, Fergal was a founding partner of RSA Ventures, the corporate venture fund of RSA Security, Inc., where he led that firm‘s European and Boston investments. Before RSA Ventures, was a founder and Senior Vice President of Cambridge Technology Partners (NASDAQ: CATP) and a member of the Global Executive Committee of the firm.
Fergal attended Harvard Business School, where he earned his M.B.A. He also holds a B.S., Electrical Engineering, and a B.A., Business Economics from Brown University.
Fergal no longer serves on any non-fund-related boards. His interests include long-distance running, backcountry skiing, golf, and traditional Irish violin. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Fergal now lives in Geneva with his wife Jane and four children.
